Teen Ceramics Camp 2025

Explore the Art of Clay! Discover the world of ceramic art in this hands-on, two-week camp designed for teens who want to explore the fundamentals of clay. In a small group setting (maximum 6 students per session), each participant will receive personalized instruction in ceramics techniques.
Led by experienced ceramic artists Christine Blanek and Erin Hayden, campers will learn everything from hand-building, wheel throwing, surface techniques, and underglazing to glazing and kiln firing. With daily skill demonstrations and dedicated independent work time, students will develop confidence and craftsmanship while creating unique, functional, and sculptural pieces.
Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, Teen Ceramics Camp offers the perfect space to experiment, learn, and bring your artistic visions to life!

Design Your Own Fused Glass Pendant or Earrings!

EXPLORE: In this workshop you'll have the opportunity to create two pieces of stunning glass jewelry. You will learn glass safety, how to cut glass, and how to design an original fused glass pendant. Using regular and dichroic fusible glass, you will take away one-of-a-kind wearable masterpieces! During class you'll design and build your two jewelry pieces. You'll then pick them up at a future date after the instructor fires them in the kiln. All materials and tools provided. BYOB allowed for Ages 21+

Summer Art Camp 2025

Unleash your creativity this summer at the Riverside Art Center’s Youth Camps! Designed for young artists from ages 5 - 12, this week-long camp offers hands-on experiences in a variety of art mediums such as painting, drawing, 3D building, printmaking, fiber arts, collage, and more. Campers will explore an array of artistic mediums through engaging workshops led by talented teaching artists while rotating between RAC’s galleries, artist studios, art classrooms, and Riverside’s beautiful outdoor parks.
Campers will be grouped according to their incoming grades* (K-3rd and 4th-7th), and led by RAC’s teaching artists, who will collaborate, create, and build students’ confidence in their own artistic abilities. Each week culminates in a community art showcase, where families can celebrate the campers’ creativity and accomplishments.
Join us for an unforgettable summer filled with imagination, exploration, and artistic discovery led by our Lead Teaching Artist, the beloved Mr. Tee, along with teaching artist Corrine Miller.

Wine & Wheel Workshop

EXPLORE: Come on in and enjoy a glass of wine while you work on projects of your choice. An instructor will be there for inspiration and to help you troubleshoot. Demos will be offered. Feel free to work on the wheel or use the time to do some hand building. BYOB, Adults 21+
Ceramics: 4-week Wheel Throwing Class
with Shawn Vincent

Join RAC for a throwing class! This course is an excellent introduction to the potter’s wheel. Participants will gain experience in basic methods of centering clay, forming functional shapes like cylinders and bowls, and trimming and adding handles. Students will also learn how to finish their pots using standard decorating and glazing techniques. This class is open to students with no prior pottery wheel experience, as well as returning students who have previously taken a wheel throwing class. All are welcome!
Learning Objectives
Wedging, centering, throwing cylinders and bowls, surface decoration & additions, trimming, learning about the possibilities of clay as a medium for creative and functional expression.
All supplies included. Maximum of 6 students.

Mosaic Making

In this three-week class, you'll learn the techniques, tools and materials involved in creating mosaic art! You'll have time to design a larger piece while learning essential skills like cutting, using proper adhesives and grouting. Experiment with color and texture to discover all the possibilities of mosaic. All materials, supplies and use of tools are provided. Experience the endless possibilities of this beautiful art form!
