Unleash your creativity this summer at the Riverside Art Center’s Youth Camps! Designed for young artists from ages 5 - 12, this week-long camp offers hands-on experiences in painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, fiber arts, collage, and more. Campers will explore an array of artistic mediums through engaging workshops led by talented teaching artists while rotating between RAC’s galleries, artist studios, art classrooms, and Riverside’s beautiful outdoor parks.

Campers will be grouped according to their incoming grades* (K-3rd and 4th-7th), and led by RAC’s teaching artists, who will collaborate, create, and build students’ confidence in their own artistic abilities. Each week culminates in a community art showcase, where families can celebrate the campers’ creativity and accomplishments.

Join us for an unforgettable summer filled with imagination, exploration, and artistic discovery led by our Lead Teaching Artist, the beloved Mr. Tee, along with teaching artist Corrine Miller.

Unleash your child's inner artist this summer!  Join us for a vibrant, 3-week drawing adventure where young creators will dive into the exciting world of art. Our "Summer Splash of Creativity" class is all about having fun while learning the fundamental building blocks of drawing. Each week, we'll explore new techniques and complete exciting projects, all inspired by the sunny joys of summer!

WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL DISCOVER:

  We'll learn about lines, shapes, basic perspective, and how to use color to bring ideas to life – all through playful exercises and engaging activities.

CLASS JOURNEY (3 WEEKS OF FUN!):

Week 1:  Sunny Days & Sandy Toes!

• Focus: Lines, basic shapes, and creating a vibrant scene.
  
  
• Project: Let's draw a "Perfect Beach Day" – complete with playful fish, surfing and boating fun, a beachside masterpiece!

Week 2:  Cool Treats & Colorful Creations!

• Focus: Introduction to color, simple shading, and drawing yummy objects.
  
  
• Project: "Sweet Summer Delights" – We'll draw towering ice cream cones, juicy watermelon slices, or refreshing lemonade.

Week 3:  Outdoor Adventures!

• Focus: Combining skills, adding details, and drawing from imagination or simple references.
  
  
• Project: "My Favorite Summer Adventure" – This could be anything from camping under the stars, a backyard BBQ, friendly summer critters, or a favorite park scene!

WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?
Kids ages 6-12.  Beginners welcome! No prior drawing experience is needed, just a love for creativity and fun.
